I’m going to start using my blog to express my inner thoughts and not just to announce upcoming projects. I’ll call these Random Rants and here’s Random Rant number 1:

Earlier this week  the infamous Zach of  The Sword website once again made stupid comments while attempting to call out the MOC blog who often waxes poetically about the ridiculous images of ethnic models in gay porn while promoting thug porn products on the same blog.  I can’t deny the validity of Zach’s points when he notes that Hoff (MOC blogger)  can’t have it both ways, but Zach fucked up when he made comments about the indignation of racial inequality in gay porn as being a perception instead of reality.

It’s obvious that Zach thinks the cries of foul all come from race baiting idiots who mistakenly take issue with the low numbers of ethnic models and the stereotypical images of said models in mainstream gay porn . He thinks if there are no “coloreds” on a  list of hot porn guys in 2010 it means that all the non white guys in gay porn deserved to be overlooked and their omissions has nothing to do with a widespread practice of discounting non whites in porn as fringe fetishes.

Zach seems to think there’s a huge difference in thug porn versus mandingo fucker porn. Both show black men as sexual retards. Thug porn displays ethnic models as mindless, weed puffing, uneducated sex machines. Mandingo fucker porn always features overly aggressive caricatures of ethnic men  who’s entire existence is to run sex trains on naughty white bottoms boys.

Here’s my response to Zach’s blog post:

Zach, how is Thug Porn any different from the crap that mainstream studios release? A thug and a savage mandingo fucker are one in the same. Diesel Washington & Thugzilla have more in common than you may think. They both promote an image that shows black men in stereotypical and unflattering ways. The only difference is that Thugzilla fucks blacks boys and Diesel primarily fucks white guys, but both primarily showcase black men as detached sexual savages.

There is much outrage amongst men of color (and our supporters) over thug porn, you just aren’t aware of the blogs written by men of color so you think there’s no backlash. When in fact he “colored” community has had many conversations about the embarrassing images of black and brown men presented in thug porn. We often question why no urban porn company has yet to produce a hi quality big, budget Micheal Lucas type (I know, his name is like Voldermort) production comprised of ethic models. I wish you would stop making light of such a serious situation. This whole “gotcha campaign” is distasteful. Racial inequality in porn is a real thing. I talk with many of my fellow ethnic cockstars and most of us yearn to be in hi quality productions. We aren’t satisfied being filmed fucking in filthy flea bag motels with poor lighting and cheap cameras. Running trains on white boys and glorifying thug mentalities is not our first choice. I’ll continue shooting bareback amateur porn before you catch me in Black Balled 3000, White Hoes & Black Bros 57 or Bitch Hunt 12.

I have compiled a list of recent comments posted on various blogs in response to Mason Wyler’s HIV status… I will add my comments later, but in the meantime I can’t help but to think that with so much ignorant hatred within our own microcosm, how in the hell can we expect society at large to support equality for gay people?

I am sickened by the fact that the gay community at large seems all too comfortable with demonizing HIV poz men, a lot of fags seem to blame & hate the person who’s infected instead of blaming and hating the virus. I wonder if cancer victims, those who suffer from heart disease or certain types of diabetes are vilified when they are found to suffer from such maladies? We are not crabs in a bucket, it’s high time we stop snipping and pinching at the flesh of our fellow gay brethren and sisters.

While it may seem like I’ve been neglecting my blog, I’ve actually been behind the scenes trying to work on a technical issue… The solution is still pending. In the meantime I want to weigh in on the issue concerning the blind eye the gay porn industry turns to men of color.

Recently Cyber Sockets (“the leader in gay and lesbian online information”) published an article with their list of 40 Amazing Porn Stars, they want us to “Consider this a sampler of the guys who have been shining most brightly on our radar during the first half of 2010. ” In the big picture this list means nothing, it carries no weight, but it still has managed to ruffle quite a few feathers; including mines. The issue that others and I have with the list is the low number of Latins and complete lack of talented Black models mentioned. I was shocked that even the token light skinned, multi ethnic Black pornstars were left off the list. If you want to judge based on performance, projects, popularity, creativity and amount of projects (i.e. “shining brightly”), then not listing Race Cooper or Austin Wilde is a gross injustice but c’est de rigueur. I’m not shocked that my name wasn’t on the list despite the fact that I have more number 1 most watched movies onAEBN.net, (the World’s #1 Online Adult Theater) than any other gay Black porn model in the first half of 2010 because bareback porn is generally shunned by others in the industry…but that’s another subject that I’ll address later.

Soon the MOC blog (who originally pointed out the alabaster slant) and others began to make comments about the achromatic list. Some people thought Diesel Washington should have been on the list, but he only had one release at the time that the list was published. The most popular thing about Diesel seems to be his blog… The general consensus seems to be that Race Cooper should have been on the list. Even though the list means nothing, a lot of us are upset that even in 2010, men of color are still overlooked by the industry at large. It’s not like I’m saying that Cyber Socket should include a preset number of ethnic models on every list they publish, but I am saying they overlooked several talented Black and Brown men. What’s even more upsetting is the response these comments have received from other bloggers in the industry. Some bloggers like Zach from Naked Sword seems to think that complaining about the epidemic overlooking of men of color in the porn industry is the same as accusing the Cyber Socket list maker of being a racist. Out of all the comments that I wrote and read on the topic, I didn’t see anyone using the “r” word. I wonder if the people who question the validity of our complaints would feel the same way if race was switched with sexuality?

The bottom line is simple. Black, Latino and Asian porn models are not sexual fetishes. A sexual fetish is defined as the sexual arousal brought on by any object, situation or body part not conventionally viewed as being sexual in nature. We are just as talented, marketable and good looking as our White counterparts. We deserves seats at the table. I’m tired of the industry giving out token awards in special categories to ethnic models so as not to get any negative feedback from those who care about equality and fairness. If there’s an award ceremony where 50 awards are issued, giving PitBull or Flava Works an obligatory award in a “Black category” and Bi Latin Men an award in the “Latino category”, while reserving the other 48 awards for the White models reminds me of a time when the US was separate and not so equal.

I’ll end by saying this: pointing out the glaring omission of talented Black and Brown models is not akin to calling someone racist, it’s just pointing out the obvious.

Below is an exchange I had with an anonymous shit talking blogger who responded to my comments on JC Adams GayPornTimes.com blog.

Not to toot my own horn (toot toot), but I, Chase Coxxx have been in 3 to 4 movies that all spent time in the #1 spot on AEBN during the 1st half of this year. Anonymous Sex Addicts was number 1 from April through early July. During June I was featured in the #1, 3, and #6 movies in the US, I don’t think any of the folks on that list can say same (correct me if I’m wrong)

If you prefer mainstream, then over looking Race Cooper is a gross injustice. Not only does he have a cutting edge website, a funny blog and great sex scenes, he’s also broken down racial barriers at RSS by becoming a casting director.

Santino Vega/Freakzilla has been ubiquitous in gay porn thus far this year and there was no mention of him either.

And the list continues. It’s clear to see that the majority of the industry still views us Black performers as scene fillers and extras. At some point things have to change and everyone, regardless of race should be noted and celebrated. Performers of color are not sexual fetishes. Sexual fetishism by definition is sexual attraction to objects, body parts or situations not conventionally viewed as being sexual in nature… I don’t think applies to skin color or race.

I can do without the accolades or recognition as long as the fans in the US (and elsewhere) keep my videos on the top 20 list…. That speaks much more volumes than any handpicked list.

PS: At the last Cyber Socket Awards, I only noticed 2 Black porn models in attendance; Diesel Washington & myself… Most others didn’t bother wasting money on travel and lodging just to be overlooked.

Chase: I also find it amazing that for as long as Flava has been around, it took signing a White bottom for them to be accepted in this dysfunctional microcosm of gay porn… Meanwhile, I am always asked if I know Breion Diamond when traveling abroad.

The only Blacks that seem to get any recognition are my multi ethnic and/or my lighter skinned brothers. I call this Obamarism… Preferring the Baracks over the Michelles,(read between the lines on that one).

I applaud all the blogs that have opened up dialog on this much needed to be discussed topic.

Jamie: A couple of brief notes… Regarding Chase’s claim that his movies spent so much time on AEBN’s top list, I’m sorry to report that as soon as I (and others) publicly made the claim that the list was the most accurate available, I have it on fairly good authority that they stopped arranging the movies by popularity and let Anon sit at the top of the list — alphabetically, anyway — for far longer than it was the most-watched. Sad. And, I’m sorry I mentioned this in a public venue, as it was very helpful information.

Second, the idea that there were racial barriers at Raging Stallion is laughable. They have been among the most racially-diverse studios in the industry.

Finally, shame on Cybersocket. Headed towards Unzipped-land, indeed.

Wow Jamie, aren’t you a snarky mofo. Instead of focusing on the blog post about the lack of Blacks, you instead are concentrating on my opinions…you’re all up in my thongs with your comments.

Breaking down racial barriers refers to the fact that there are not many Blacks working behind the camera in mainstream gay porn. You chose to infer that I was implying RSS was somehow racist when clearly I was speaking about administrative positions and not on screen talent… After all, they’ve casted me before. Seems your motives for leaving a comment were purely spiteful. I doubt you’re sorry about your snark and I could care less you were, but I will verify your claims with my contact people at AEBN.

In the future, when you attempt to rebut me, make sure you properly comprehend my words first.

Chase: In response to Jamie’s allegations that AEBN “stopped arranging the movies by popularity and let Anon sit at the top of the list — alphabetically, anyway — for far longer than it was the most-watched.”… A direct quote taken from an email response I received concerning this subject from my contact at AEBN this morning “The ones that are on the gay landing page on the right, are real time most watched, top to bottom, but if you click on the “see more” tab in that category, those are most watched but not necessarily in the order from top to bottom.”…. That means that the top 20 listed are accurate and real time. So Jamie your attempt to invalidate my my claims about having the #1 gay porn movie in the United States for nearly 3 months is baseless. Now I may be a d-list porn model with zero name recognition, but as far as Black men in gay porn goes, I’ve been attached more most watched movies in the first 1/2 of this year than any other Black gay porn model….. Sooooo in the words of female rapper Lil’ Kim “get ya facts straight or SHUT UP BITCH!!!” Oh yeah, It just pains me to have to take yet another anonymous, shit talking, inaccurate blogger to task in such a public way, seriously, I’m shedding tears, but it’s very helpful information.

Jamie: Well, once again it seems I touched a nerve. It was unintentional, and I have nothing against you, Chase. I was merely pointing out that I was wrong when a couple of weeks ago, on the thread discussing the various charts, I claimed AEBN’s list was the most accurate and reliable (as compared to the worthless GayVN/AVN lists, among others). I believe that the AEBN list was at one point the most accurate, and I don’t know why they decided to manipulate the list rather than let it be, but it is sad because there is so little accurate and/or unbiased information on gay product available.

What alerted me to the issue was that Anon had been at the top of the list for so long — uncharacteristically long, in fact — and then literally overnight it fell out of the top 10. Statistically, it is nearly impossible for a title to fall from the number one position to out of the top-10 so quickly. It would have required that 10 hot, straight-to-number-one titles debuted overnight… or the algorithm used to calculate the position changed. Or, are you trying to tell me a movie released by Treasure Island over 6 months ago suddenly became the most-watched title?

However, your comment about Race Cooper and Raging Stallion reads that you think he broke down racial barriers at RS and despite the ambiguity of your statement, it is still laughable as RS has had numerous administrative positions filled by a racially diverse group long before Cooper joined them. Now, it’s rare for me to offer RS accolades, but in this case I am aware of the makeup of their crew, and they are among a small group of studios in this industry that are committed to diversity both in front of the camera, and behind. If what you meant to say was that Cooper broke down racial barriers in the industry specifically creatively or administratively, then that is what you should have said (although I would have still disagreed, as I’ve personally known and known of black men working behind the camera).

And that was and is my point, which is pointedly on topic, that Cybersocket overlooked the increasing racial diversity of the industry whether cast or crew. I may present my opinions with a heavy dose of snark, but frankly, skepticism, doubt and outright sarcasm is the only way to deal with this industry.

It’s safe to talk crap behind the safety of a keyboard. I have no respect for that. I choose to give Cooper accolades for his positions at RSS. You may think a minute number of Blacks on the production side is sufficient, but as a Black performer, I don’t, so whenever a Black person moves up in the ranks, I celebrate it. Loud and proud. Your nit picky view won’t change this.

I’ll close this subject by saying that true, honesty, respectful, unbiased reporting is the best way to deal with this industry. Axe grinding, anonymous blogging, pay for props and shit talking can not be justified as ways to deal with this industry. Try again.

Jamie: Chase, two points: post your real name, or shut the fuck up; and, stop putting words in my mouth.

Jackson Kale, the newly signed model for Jason Sechrest’s DV8 casting, seems to have more lives than an alley cat. It was just a mere few months ago that RandyBlue.com was touting him as a new recruit on their porn site. Shortly thereafter, contradictory information starting spreading throughout the blogosphere about Mr. Kale. It seems that Jackson Kale lied in a RandyBlue video statement when he said it was his first time doing porn, as there is plenty of evidence to the contrary.

He’s been known as Paris (for his bareback scenes) and Joseph Nash (Tyson Kane Videos), I’m not sure what he called himself when shooting movies with Enrique Cruz back in the day. At any rate, RandyBlue.com released this statement when asked about Mr. Kale’s fabrication of reality: “He wasn’t truthful and we trust our models to be straight with us.”…. Apparently this type of chaotic reentry into the porn game is exactly what Jason Sechrest looks for in the talent he represents. On one hand I want to be happy that another Black model is employed, but on the other hand, I wish it were a truly fresh face which has the potential to do big things in the industry. If Jackson hasn’t made a splash under his other nom de plumes, there’s no reason to think anything will change this go round… Stay tuned for the next installment in Jackson Kale’s 9 lives.
